Get Behind the Wheel: Touch A Truck Event at Central Chevrolet!

Looking for the ultimate family-friendly Saturday in Western Mass? Rev up your engines and clear your calendars! On Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Central Chevrolet is transforming our lot into a heavy-machinery playground for the local community. Our Touch A Truck event is a free, hands-on experience designed specifically for kids (and the young at heart) to explore the massive vehicles they usually only see from a distance. If your little one is obsessed with construction, public safety, or just anything with "big tires," this is the place to be. A Special Guest: Boomer from the Springfield Thunderbirds! We are thrilled to announce a very special guest appearance! Boomer, the lovable mascot of the Springfield Thunderbirds, will be joining us from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Whether he’s high-fiving the kids or "testing out" the driver's seat of an excavator, Boomer always brings the energy. Don't forget to bring your camera for a photo op with Western Mass’s favorite thunderbird! What to Expect We’ve gathered a fleet of the coolest rigs in West Springfield to give your children a front-row seat to the action. This isn’t just a "look but don't touch" kind of day. We encourage kids to: Climb into the driver’s seat of massive excavators and dump trucks. Honk the horns (fair warning to the parents!) of local emergency vehicles. Learn how they work by talking to the experts who operate these machines every day. Snap photos with the fleet and Boomer—perfect for those childhood scrapbooks! Why We Love "Touch A Truck" Events like these are more than just a fun afternoon; they are a great way for kids to engage with STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) in a real-world setting. Seeing the mechanics of a hydraulic lift or the scale of a tractor-trailer sparks curiosity and career interests early on. Plus, it's a fantastic way for us at Central Chevrolet to give back to the West Springfield community that supports us year-round. Event Details: When: Saturday, May 2, 2026 Time: 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM Where: Central Chevrolet, 675 Memorial Ave, West Springfield, MA 01089 Cost: FREE! Join Us at Central Chevrolet! While the kids are busy exploring the excavators and hanging out with Boomer, feel free to browse our latest lineup of family-ready Chevy SUVs and trucks. Whether you need the towing power of a Silverado or the safety features of a Tahoe, we’ve got the perfect "big truck" for your driveway, too. We can’t wait to see you there! Be sure to follow us on social media for event updates and more community news.

March into Spring: Your Guide to Local Events and Seasonal Care in West Springfield

As the calendar turns to March, the Pioneer Valley begins to stir with the first signs of spring. Here at Central Chevrolet, we know that March in Western Massachusetts is a season of transition—a time to swap the heavy winter boots for walking shoes and prepare our vehicles for the warmer roads ahead. Whether you’re looking for family-friendly fun or a head start on your spring car maintenance, there is plenty to look forward to this month. Here is your guide to making the most of March in and around West Springfield. Local Events to Mark on Your Calendar March 2026 is packed with community events that celebrate the season and our local culture. Here are a few highlights happening just minutes from our dealership: 71st Annual Western Mass Home & Garden Show (March 26–29): Held at the Eastern States Exposition, this is the ultimate destination for spring inspiration. Whether you're planning a full renovation or just looking for some new garden ideas, it’s a West Springfield staple you won't want to miss. Holyoke St. Patrick’s Parade (March 22): Just a short drive from Central Chevrolet, one of the nation’s largest St. Patrick’s Day celebrations returns. Join the crowds for a day of vibrant floats, music, and community spirit. Old Deerfield Spring Craft Fair (March 7–8): Kick off the month by supporting local artisans at the Eastern States Exposition. It’s the perfect place to find unique, handmade gifts and spring decor. Maple Harvest Day (March 14): Nothing says "Spring in New England" like fresh maple syrup. Check out local sugar houses for pancake breakfasts and demonstrations of the season’s first liquid gold. Prep Your Ride for the New Season While we look forward to the events, March is also the most critical month for your vehicle. The "mud season" and fluctuating temperatures can take a toll on your Chevy. To ensure you’re ready for those spring road trips, consider these seasonal tips: Wash Away the Winter: Road salt is the enemy of your car's undercarriage. As the ice melts, make sure to give your vehicle a thorough wash—including the wheel wells—to prevent corrosion. Check Your Wipers: After a winter of scraping ice, your blades might be streaking. With spring showers on the way, visibility is key. Tire Pressure Check: Fluctuating March temperatures cause your tire pressure to shift. Proper inflation ensures better fuel economy and safety on those damp Pioneer Valley roads. Battery Health: Cold starts in February may have weakened your battery. A quick test now can prevent a "no-start" situation during a busy March morning. Looking Ahead At Central Chevrolet, we are proud to be a part of the West Springfield community. As we transition into spring, our service team is here to help with everything from oil changes to tire rotations to keep your Chevy running at its best. As always we are here to assist in your search for a new vehicle or the upkeep of your current one. View Inventory Schedule Service

More Than a Dealership: Why Central Chevrolet is Your Trusted Partner in Car Buying

Let's be honest: buying a car can be one of the most stressful experiences you go through. Between high-pressure sales tactics, confusing numbers, and shocking "market adjustments" that inflate the price by thousands, it’s easy to feel like you’re in a battle. At Central Chevrolet, we think that’s just wrong. We know that for most people in West Springfield, Chicopee, and across the Pioneer Valley, a car isn't a luxury—it's a necessity. It’s how you get to work, take your kids to school, and connect with your community. When your old car gives out or your family needs more space, you need a partner you can trust, not an adversary. That’s where we come in. We're Your Neighbors: The Power of a Family-Owned Dealership Central Chevrolet isn't some faceless corporation owned by a distant holding company. We are a family-owned and operated business, and our roots are planted firmly right here in the Western Massachusetts community. Our name is on the building, and our reputation is on the line with every single person who walks through our doors. What does that mean for you? Accountability: We answer to you, our customer and neighbor, not to a boardroom hundreds of miles away. Longevity: We’ve been here for years, serving generations of local families. We plan on being here for many more, and that means building lasting relationships, not making quick, predatory sales. Community Focus: We live here, too. We sponsor local teams, participate in community events, and strive to be a positive force in the region we all call home. When you shop with us, you’re not just a sales target; you’re a neighbor. We believe that’s the foundation of a better car buying experience. Our Promise: Fair, Transparent, MSRP Pricing Have you ever found the perfect car online, only to visit the dealership and find the price is thousands of dollars higher than advertised? Dealers call it a "market adjustment" or "dealer markup." We call it unfair. At Central Chevrolet, we are proud to sell our new vehicles at MSRP—the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price. There are no hidden fees, no surprise markups, and no games. The price suggested by Chevrolet is the price you can expect to see. Why do we do this when so many others don't? Because it’s the honest way to do business. We believe in transparency and building trust from the very first handshake. Your budget is important, and we respect it by providing clear, upfront pricing on every vehicle. A Partner for Your Automotive Journey Life happens. A trusted vehicle might suddenly break down, leaving you in a bind. A new job might mean a longer commute, requiring a more fuel-efficient car. A growing family might require a switch from a sedan to an SUV like the Chevy Equinox or Traverse. We understand that you're not always buying a car on a whim. Often, you're looking for a solution to a real-life problem. Our team is trained to be consultants, not just salespeople. Our goal is to listen to your needs, understand your situation, and help you find the perfect Chevrolet that fits your life and your budget—without the pressure. We want to be the first place you think of when you need a vehicle, because you know you'll be treated with respect and fairness. Experience the Central Chevrolet Difference If you’re tired of the typical dealership experience and are looking for a team that values integrity and community, we invite you to see the difference for yourself. As the go-to regional Chevrolet dealer for West Springfield and beyond, we’re here to prove that buying a car can and should be a positive, straightforward experience. Come visit us at our showroom in West Springfield, browse our inventory online, or just give us a call. Let us be your partner in finding your next great vehicle. View Inventory

🐶Happy Birthday to Dakota: The Dealer Dog

Here at Central Chevrolet in West Springfield, we love our cars, but we really love our community. And a very special, four-legged member of that community has a big day today – Carla Butterfield, our service manager's amazing dog, Dakota, is turning the big THREE! Throughout the last three years you may have seen Dakota around the dealership from sales, service, to his favorite napping spot in the BDC. Dakota has become a huge part of the lives of all of us here at Central Chevrolet and we're so excited to be sharing this special day with him.
